I’ve tried many different kinds of frappes, but the one that I think is the best is a salted caramel mocha frappe. There’s something about this drink that just makes it so delicious- probably the combination of chocolate and espresso with a dash of salt.
The caramel gives the drink some sweetness, and it doesn’t taste too salty or too sweet.
Salted Caramel Mocha Frappe
The salted caramel mocha frappe at my favorite coffee shop has got to be my favorite drink! It combines dark chocolate with espresso (which is also available as an iced option) and a dash of salt. The sweetness comes from the caramel, but it’s not too sugary or too salty.
But what really makes this drink so good is the well-balanced combination of chocolate and espresso with a dash of salt. It’s not too sweet, it’s not too salty, it has just enough caramel, and you can taste the espresso flavor even though it’s in a blended frappe! I think that all combined make for an amazing frappe!
If you’ve never had a salted caramel mocha frappe, I highly recommend it! You don’t have to go out and buy an expensive Starbucks frappe or one from the coffee place down the road; making your own is super simple and easy.
All you need is 1/2 cup milk (I prefer whole milk), 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee, 2 tablespoons of caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade ), and some salt. You could use vanilla extract instead of caramel if you’d like, I’ve just never tried it so I don’t know how well it would work out!
For the salted caramel mocha frappe, I used: 1/2 cup milk (I prefer whole milk) with 1 teaspoon of sugar, 2 tablespoons caramel sauce, and a little salt to taste.
That’s it! All you need is your ingredients and a blender or mixer to blend them together. Easy peasy! I used my Keurig brewer for the coffee and my frothier to mix it together. If you don’t have access to Keurig brewers or a milk frothier, you can put everything in a blender and use the whisk attachment.
Whichever way, use whatever tools that you have available!
I know this is going to sound weird, but I like the taste of salted caramel mocha frappes cold. I know, most people prefer their coffee hot, but it tastes SO good cold!
